Cathleen
Ann
Cathleen
is a marketing manager by day, and a theatre buff by night. She has acted in the city and in the suburbs for the past
decade or so. Roles she likes to reminisce about are Linda Seton in
Holiday for Village Theatre of Palatine, Witch #1 in Macbeth for Shakespeare in Schaumburg, and Kate in
Words with C for Reasonable Facsimile in Chicago. And don’t even get her started about her role as Beatrice in
Much Ado About Nothing for Elk Grove Center for the Performing Arts—she has four dozen photos!
She's also enjoyed having roles in Vex's own productions of Boston Marriage
and Lady Windermere's Fan. Behind the scenes, she puts her marketing skills to work designing posters and websites for theatre
groups (including this one). She also belly dances, but has yet to work
that into a stage performance.
Vex is the culmination of many years of her thinking:
“ANOTHER production of You Can’t Take It With You?!”
(Which, by the way, she’s acted in twice, along with just about every other actor in the free world.)
Not that there’s anything wrong with Kaufman and Hart, it’s just that, as theatre
lovers, we sometimes need something ELSE. Something different. Something that challenges us in new ways. Vex hopes to meet that challenge!
(At least till the money runs out.)
